We invented the ATO in 1985 and coined the name Osmolator as a contraction of Osmotic Regulator. The primary goal of an ATO is a stable osmotic pressure in the aquarium environment. We utilize multiple redundancies, optic sensor, backed up by a float switch, backed up by a time limit and pump speed adjustment. In this way we do not rely on a single technology that could fail. Engineered and manufactured in Germany by Tunze.
